About Us

Southeast Georgia Nurse Honor Guard — We are nurses honoring nurses.

Our mission is simple yet meaningful: to ensure that no nurse’s service goes unrecognized and that every nurse is honored with dignity, compassion, and grace.

Uniform Symbolization

  • White Uniform: Purity, honesty, and faith — the foundation of nursing.
  • Lamp: Represents Florence Nightingale’s lamp and symbolizes guidance and hope.
  • Cape: Originally worn for warmth; its red lining identified nurses as medical personnel in the field.
  • Cap: a universal emblem of nursing service and discipline. The nurse’s cap has journeyed through a remarkable evolution. It began as a practical head covering, transformed into a complex and cherished symbol of professional identity and achievement, and later faded from daily use due to profound shifts in the healthcare landscape. Today, it has been reborn not as a piece of workwear, but as a revered icon. In ceremonial tributes, the cap stands as a poignant part of nursing’s heritage, representing the timeless dedication, compassion, and honor of nurses everywhere.
